Ljubljana Forum 2025 – 15th Anniversary Edition

2–3 October 2025 | Ljubljana Castle, Slovenia

The Ljubljana Forum celebrates its 15th anniversary as a leading platform for the future development of cities. This year’s theme is “City of Well-Being: Sports & Recreation Infrastructure”, exploring how sustainable, smart, inclusive, and resilient approaches can shape urban futures.

About the Forum

Since its founding in 2011, the Ljubljana Forum has brought together city mayors and leaders, the European Commission and Parliament, the European Investment Bank, the Millennium Project, regional cooperation councils, industry, academia, and civil society partners. Its mission is to connect, enable, and encourage good practice cases while creating synergies between foresight and urban planning to shape the “City of the Future.”

Venue

The conference takes place at the historic Ljubljana Castle, a cultural landmark overlooking Slovenia’s capital, blending centuries of history with modern innovation.

Keynote Contribution

Mathias Behn Bjørnhof, Futurist & Founder of ANTICIPATE, will speak on “Anticipating the City of Well-Being”, bringing a foresight perspective to how cities can align long-term strategies with human well-being and resilience.
