Festival for the Future 2025

At the end of September, Copenhagen will host the Festival for the Future, a two-day celebration where imagination meets action. Set in the historic City Hall, the event will create a “time portal” to 2030, inviting participants to rehearse the future we want to build.

Highlights

Town Anywhere (Sept 27, 09:30–16:30)

Artist Ruth Ben-Tovim and author Rob Hopkins guide participants through an immersive visioning journey. Together, hundreds will co-create a thriving community in 3D, before “returning” to 2025 with fresh insights and inspiration.

Field Recordings from the Future (Sept 27–28, 19:00)

Rob Hopkins presents a time machine experience, transporting audiences to the world of 2035 through sound and storytelling.

Imagination Activist Training (Sept 28, 10:00–12:00)

Led by Phoebe Tickell, this workshop introduces methodologies such as Future Assembly and Interspecies Councils, helping participants envision regenerative futures and practice “imagination activism.”

Copenhagen Doughnut Economics Circus (Sept 28, 12:00 & 15:00)

Kate Raworth, creator of Doughnut Economics, and Jacob Rask host a playful yet thought-provoking exploration of 21st-century economics, complete with circus performance elements.

Kate Raworth, Phoebe Tickell, Rob Hopkins, and Jacob Rask explore imagination as a tool for activism and change. Tickets available via Grasp Festival.
