APFN 2026 – 12th Asia Pacific Futures Network Conference
📍 Sasin School of Management, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand
📅 Sep 3-4, 2026
The Asia Pacific Futures Network (APFN) will return to Bangkok for its 12th conference, bringing together futurists, practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and business leaders from across the region. Hosted in Bangkok for the fourth time, the conference aims to raise the profile of futures thinking and strategic foresight in ASEAN and the wider Asia-Pacific.
Designed as more than a conventional conference, APFN takes a peer-to-peer learning approach, with a strong emphasis on knowledge sharing, networking, and practical exchange. The program is expected to include four parallel tracks tailored to different audiences, including practitioners, academic researchers, government actors, and corporate leaders.
The conference will focus on imagining the futures of Asia and the Pacific, exploring disruptions, sharing methods and tools for foresight, and highlighting case studies from government, business, and community settings. A central goal is to strengthen futures literacy among both experienced practitioners and newcomers, helping participants make more informed decisions in the present.
Topics and activities are expected to include:
Alternative futures and regional disruptions
Foresight methods, tools, and innovations
Practical examples of foresight in policy and decision-making
Exchange between practitioners, policymakers, and researchers
Networking across organizations, sectors, and countries
The organizers also position APFN as a community-building event, with a modest conference contribution intended in part to support young and emerging futurists. Current draft pricing indicates:
USD 150 standard contribution
USD 50 for students
The conference is being organized with support from APFN leadership, Sasin School of Management, and regional partners, with more details on the final theme, speakers, and registration expected to be announced as the website develops.
