The 2027 Consortium for Scenario Planning Conference brings together planning professionals, researchers, students and foresight practitioners to exchange experiences and advance the use of scenario planning in addressing complex urban and regional challenges.
Organised by the Consortium for Scenario Planning at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, the tenth annual conference is co-hosted by the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG).
Programme Highlights
The conference combines presentations, panel discussions and interactive group work, with particular attention to the practical application of scenario planning.
An opening plenary will examine Connect SoCal Futures, SCAG's initiative exploring possible futures for Southern California. Participants can also join a tour of the Los Angeles Metro D Line, connecting discussions about long-term planning with infrastructure development.
The event is particularly relevant to people working at the intersection of strategic foresight, urban planning, land use, infrastructure, public policy and regional development. It provides a space to share methods, compare applications and learn from scenario planning projects in different contexts.
