ATINER's 12th Annual International Symposium on Foresight

12th Annual International Symposium on Foresight

27–31 July 2026 | Athens, Greece

The Athens Institute will host its 12th Annual International Symposium on Foresight as part of the 13th Annual International Conference on Social Sciences, organized by the Social Sciences Division and the Computer Science Unit. The symposium aims to convene scholars, researchers, and students from across the field of Futures Studies and related disciplines, covering both quantitative and qualitative approaches such as scenario-building, horizon scanning, forecasting, roadmapping, backcasting, technology assessment, Delphi surveys, and social platforms.

Participants may engage as stream organizers, paper presenters, session chairs, or observers. In line with the Athens Institute’s approach, sessions may also include broader topics on education and research.

Key Deadlines

  • Abstract submission: 23 December 2025 (300 words, using the abstract submission form)

  • Full paper deadline: 29 June 2026

  • Attendee registration (non-presenters): 29 June 2026

Abstract submissions should include: paper title, author(s) name(s), affiliation, current position, email address, and at least three keywords. Decisions will be communicated within four weeks.

For those wishing to participate without presenting a paper—such as organizing a special session, chairing, or contributing in other ways—expressions of interest can be sent directly to the symposium’s organizer, Dr. Gregory T. Papanikos, President of the Athens Institute.
